Yoshimura exhausts became popular among professional racers in the 1970s. The Japanese company was founded in 1954 by an engineer and motorcycle tuner Hideo "Pops" Yoshimura. He was designing highly efficient performance parts to make motorcycles go faster during racing events. After getting multiple wins in an AMA Superbike race, the company started growing fast ensuring the brand’s success in the U.S. and around the world.

Today, we would like to introduce the Race Series Alpha T Exhaust System by Yoshimura. The stainless steel full exhaust system has a carbon fiber end-cap featuring a unique titan-like finish. The system is designed to ensure gains in peak torque and horsepower while the overall weight is reduced by 7.4 lbs. Note that this exhaust is designed for racing applications only.

Common things to do to a Gen 1 'busa?

$
0
0
Hey, so I got myself a 2005 'busa. It's only been ridden 24,000 km, so quite in it's early phases still. I was wondering if in general there are some certain things to do to this bike? real estate digital marketing india

Example of what I mean: Suzuki VS1400 Intruders have poor clutch springs, and people tend to replace them for stronger ones.

So any general knowledge quirks, fixes or perfomance increases I could/should do? (Powercommander, certain parts, check for certain things, anything pretty much).

I'm taking the bike to a checkup for a certified mechanic first, as apparently it hasn't been ridden much in the last years and no knowledge if any maintenance beyond oil changes has been done. But that's not the point here though.

New Site Update Community

Dear Community Members,

Over the past year or two, there have been updates to the environment that have introduced challenges in usability and performance. Efforts to improve the technology, user interface, and site performance has revealed weaknesses in the platform and outdated software this site uses. This has made it increasingly difficult and frustrating to support and upgrade to more modern reliable standards that users deserve. Our advertising experience and certain ad partners have further degraded the functionality of the site. This is not the experience we want for the members of this community.

Members want a fast site that performs well across all devices, to be able to find relevant and interesting content, and easily share through text, images, video, and messaging on a secure platform. Our goal is to provide this ultimate user experience to all members.

We will be implementing a new platform to better meet the needs of this community and allow us to provide support more efficiently. Our focus is to create a sustainable platform that performs well, and loads faster on all devices, while offering seamless ways to search and connect. Technology is constantly innovating - by creating an environment that we control we can maintain the site with more frequent improvements and maintenance updates.

Although change can be difficult, we are here to support you through the process. We make every effort to review existing settings and make the changes needed so the migration goes smoothly. If you notice something doesn’t seem correct once the site goes live, don’t panic! We’ll have a dedicated person monitoring as the site goes live to answer any questions and provide support through this change.

What’s next?

I bet you’re thinking, “What does this mean for me and the community?” It does mean change, but it will help solve a large majority of the issues that this site may have been experiencing. We have reviewed reported issues, site statistics, traffic data, and user feedback to help us prioritize the changes and improvements. Uploading an image or video will be easier and streamlined. Ad formatting will change with a new site layout. The site will be more responsive - there is no need to use a mobile skin or special app! Security and user privacy will continue to be a top priority.

When will this be happening? Soon! We recognize the user experience is slow and there are bugs from the outdated software. The sooner we can change that the better we can make the experience for you. You’ll start to see activity related to cleanup in preparation for migration very shortly. We will post an announcement to the community prior to starting the actual data migration. Once the migration begins, the site will go into maintenance mode and will be read-only while data is being migrated.

We appreciate each member’s contribution to this community and look forward to an improved experience for you all.

2000 Clutch issues

2000 Suzuki Hayabusa

Extensive mod list including:
Brock's Clutch Mod
Vortex 16T front sprocket
(Front sprocket, OEM rear sprocket, and EK chain all replaced a couple of thousand miles ago)
/end

So, I bought this bike about 3 years ago with 4700 miles on it, it now currently has almost 11,500 and I've been dealing with this the entire time.
Before Brock's clutch mod:
If I were to let the clutch slip out sort of higher, say 4000+ rpm, the bike would jutter real bad, like the clutch was gripping/slipping/gripping/slipping/gripping and if it was on the edge of 4000rpm it would make this wrrrrrrrrrrrrr noise until the clutch lever was fully released at which point it would go away and ride normally. I don't race this bike so as long as I kept the RPMs below 4000 when setting off from a stop I was perfectly fine. The higher the RPM would go though, the more violent the jutter would be.

After Brock's clutch mod:
Exact same thing, but it went from happening at 4000+ rpm and got worse and started happening around 2500-2800+ rpm. The wrrrrrrrrr noise is still there when slipping it at the edge of where it wants to jutter and all. What I've noticed now though is sometimes it does it at 2800rpm, sometimes it does it damn near off idle.

Inspection:
Before I did the Brock's clutch mod, I took all the fibers and steels out to visually inspect them, the basket, and the pressure plate (All of which appear to be factory OEM). There is no real bad heat scoring to note, the fibers are all in great shape, pressure plate and basket surface looked fine, fingers on the basket are in good shape (I don't have the tools to measure any of this, I was just looking for anything that was out of the norm). Took a caliper to each of the fibers and steels and measured them, they all measured to pretty much new spec and the stack height is perfect. I put everything back together in order as the service manual states. I did soak the fibers for 24 hours in new oil which I later found out Brock's recommends against that due to possible swelling of the fibers and increased stack height. It made no difference at the time, clutch felt the same before and after.

Video:
I slapped together a quick video in an attempt to capture the wrrrrrr sound and the juttering. As I stated, the higher the RPM the worse it gets. It feels like the clutch is slipping and gripping very quickly making it very jerky.

My thoughts:
Because this is something that only happens when I'm touching the clutch lever, I have to think it's inside the basket itself, otherwise I feel it would give some sort of symptom at all times while riding. I want to say this is an issue with the steels/fibers, or maybe the pressure plate or surface of the basket where the first fiber goes, something... But I'm open to any/all ideas at this point.
